<img align=left alt="Hayden And Aaron – The Amazing Race 6" border=0 hspace=6 src=http://realityreel.com/images/haydenaaron.gif>Before I started with the main portion of the interview I asked Hayden and Aaron a little bit about their engagement. For those of you who don’t know, Aaron proposed to Hayden right after they were eliminated on the finale episode of the Amazing Race. I first asked them when the wedding was, and Hayden responded by saying that Aaron is going to culinary school, so because of this they had to push the wedding back from December 2005, to December 2006. To clear up what made Aaron propose, I asked him if he knew all along he was going to propose, or if it was on the spot. Aaron told me that they had a long bus ride to the pit stop, and on the way there he had a lot to think about. He told me the bus ride was approx. 4hrs, and said that originally he wanted to propose after Hayden and he had crossed the finish line and won the million dollars. Once he realized that they were going to be eliminated because of the 4 hour penalty they decided to take, he decided to propose after they were eliminated.

Christopher (Reality Reel): Back to the beginning now, what made you two apply for the race?

Hayden: I actually got a call from friend of mine from Survivor: Africa, Kelly, and she told me she was doing some casting from the race. And so to tell you the truth I had heard of it, but had never been a fan. Aaron however had been a fan of the race, and flipped out when he found out we had a chance to interview. It was literally the day before the finals, I said I would do it because Aaron was so excited, and then of course I watched the show and loved the premise of it. I thought it was a great opportunity.

Christopher (Reality Reel): Did you prepare at all before the race?

Aaron: Yeah, of course. We did a lot of studying of the climates, for basically the whole world because we didn’t know where we were going, so we knew what to pack, and we ran about 40 - 45 miles a week. We also did weight training and stuff like that to get physically and mentally prepared.
